Over 20 young people joined the international training and participated with great motivation at the beginning. Their experiences raised the interest of another large group of over 100 church members. 105 of them joined the basic training. Over 70 of them continued with the advanced training for small group evangelism and are still involved actively every week.
“The Small Group Ministry (SGM) project is a hope for our church, which needs members to go deep in their spirituality and at the same time be able to reach out to unbelieving friends with the gospel in a clear way. The SGM project is directly addressing both of these goals. I am grateful that this year 100 lay participants (meeting 1-2 times a week) are committed to this intensive six-month training. The revolutionary ideas of Laszlo Szabo and the "learning by doing" method is a great challenge for them, but this is how they can learn the most to be good leaders of spiritual groups.“ Daniel Kašlík, Head of Youth Department Czech-Slovak Union and main coordinator of SGM in Czech-Slovak Union
„I actively participate in the SGM program and as a mission leader at the Czechoslovak Union… I find it very effective and interesting support for the spiritual growth of church members and at the same time it is an effective evangelistic tool. I believe that this comprehensively developed program of teaching of small group leaders will result in new passionate disciples in local churches and the joy of evangelistic work. I fully support and highly recommend the program.“ Jan Libotovsky, Head of Mission at Czech-Slovak Union
„Sisters and brothers from the Slovak Conference have shown great interest in the SGM training, which is organized throughout the Czech-Slovak Union. 38 persons (5 of them are pastors) from the Slovak Conference are actively participating in the SGM training. The SGM training is very inspiring for the participants and helps them to live important Christian principles not theoretically but in real relationships. SGM has the potential to leaven the whole lump of dough, meaning that the groups that emerge in individual congregations can reach out and change a large part of the congregation and later the community in which the congregation operates through their influence. After this training, we count on the Slovak Conference to actively support the trainees to carry out their plans in SGM. At the same time, we at the Slovak Conference plan to motivate other preachers and other sisters and other brothers from the congregations for joining the training and the implementation of SGM. As President of the Slovak Association, I am very grateful to Brother L. Szabo for the opportunity to grow in SGM that we have in our Union and that many people have been able to participate in.“ František Kolesár, leader of the Slovak Conference
