Christ's Method Alone
Christ's Way of Relational Witnessing

    About the Author

What Dr. Philip G. Samaan, professor, missionary, and editor, has put together in this book is a detailed study of Jesus’s method of witnessing. This 186-page book, published in 2012, expounds the counsel of Ellen G. White that “Christ’s method alone will give true success in reaching the people. The Saviour mingled with men as one who desired their good. He showed his sympathy for them, ministered to their needs, and won their confidence. Then he bade them, ‘Follow Me.’ … Accompanied by the power of the power of persuasion, the power of prayer, the power of the love of God, this work will not, cannot, be without fruit” (The Ministry of Healing, pp. 143, 144).

    About the Book

What if you knew of the best method of witnessing that can guarantee robust success in evangelism; would you incorporate it in your witnessing? And if you knew that this method was the very method used by Jesus, the Master Witness, would you not like to study and apply it in your own witnessing?

Samaan has an excellent analysis of Jesus’s style of witnessing – the relational style. This style seems to be the missing link in contemporary witnessing. Equipped with truth, most Christians lack the cutting-edge relational and communication skills to reach those who are not interested in the gospel. People are open to relationships more than doctrines. Building healthy and beneficial relationships is a solid way of communicating the doctrines. Meeting the felt needs of people opens them up for the witness to meet their actual need, which is the gospel.

Reading CHRIST’S METHOD ALONE, I can say persuasively that this is a classic on practical ways of saying the truth in love. The world needs love as well as the truth. Both are important. Every witness should learn the method that made Jesus the best evangelist that walked on earth. The success that attended Him millennia ago will attend the contemporary witness too. So how do you begin to apply this method? Start from reading this book. Not you alone. Recommend it to your pastor, elder, evangelist, and to anyone who loves witnessing. The skills you will discover in it will equip you for a more fruitful mission.
