Bergamo

The original Adventist church in Bergamo has planted a subsidiary church. Before everything started, there was only one Adventist lady in town. But she was not deedless. On her daily ways, she prayed for a church and spread flyers into the mailboxes. Today the church consists of about 40 members, who are all living in the close neighborhood of Bergamo. The newly planted church aims for 50 members and wants to plant then again, another church. The leader is convinced that small churches are more effective than large ones, because in the small ones, everyone has a function and everyone is involved.

The strategy of the Adventist church of Bergamo is the following: By social activities they want to get in touch with people and by joy, they want to spread the love of Jesus to them. Therefore, they are regularly holding a family day on Sundays. Oftentimes, these activities take place in the church building. The first contact with people happens at these social events and only then they are invited to church. It’s primarily friends, acquaintances and family members, whom the brothers and sisters invite. The love among each other in church is a core issue for them, even though they all are different.
